Kedarnath Jyotirlinga is one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and is also a key shrine in the Char Dham Yatra as well as part of Panch Kedar. It is located high in the Garhwal Himalayas, near the Mandakini River in Rudraprayag district, Uttarakhand. The temple sits at an altitude of about 3,583 m above sea level and is surrounded by towering snow-capped peaks. Worship here is believed to grant spiritual liberation and purification of sins.
