About This Temple
Rameshwar Jyotirlinga, located at Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu, is one of the 12 sacred Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. It holds immense significance as the place where Lord Rama worshipped Shiva to atone for the sin of killing Ravana. The temple is also famous for its 22 sacred theerthams (holy wells) and long pillared corridors. Worship here is believed to remove sins, grant spiritual purification, and bestow moksha, making Rameshwar Jyotirlinga a vital part of the Char Dham Yatra.
