Ramgiri Shakti Peeth

Maa Shivani (or Ramgiri Devi) & Chanda

About

Ramgiri Shakti Peeth is one of the 51 sacred Shakti Peethas in Hinduism, where Goddess Sati's right breast is believed to have fallen. The deity is worshipped as Maa Shivani (or Ramgiri Devi), and the accompanying Bhairava is Chanda. There is some debate regarding its exact location; it is traditionally identified with two sites, both in the border region of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh: Chitrakoot: Often identified as the Maa Shivani/Gayatri Shakti Peeth near Kamadgiri Hill. Maihar: Some identify it with the Sharda Devi Temple on Trikuta Hill in Satna district.
