About

The temple is located on the banks of the holy River Ganga, about 8 km from Mirzapur city. It is a highly revered "Siddhapeeth" where the goddess is believed to reside permanently, making it unique among Shakti Peethas (which are typically places where body parts of Sati fell). The temple is the central point of the "Trikon Parikrama," a traditional circumambulation that also includes the nearby Kali Khoh and Ashtabhuja Devi temples. Large crowds of devotees visit daily, especially during the Navratri festivals in the months of Chaitra and Ashwin (April and October).
