Shaiva Vivah

Shaiva Vivah is rooted in Shaiva philosophy, which considers marriage a divine union inspired by the ideal relationship of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. This form of vivah emphasizes devotion (bhakti), discipline, mutual respect, and spiritual growth, making it ideal for couples devoted to Lord Shiva and Shaivite customs.

In Shaiva Vivah, the marriage rituals are performed with special reverence to Lord Shiva. The ceremony begins with Ganesh Puja and Shiva Abhishek, invoking blessings for obstacle-free and stable married life. Rudra Mantras, Mahamrityunjaya Jap, and Shaiva Homa are performed to purify the environment and strengthen the bond between the bride and groom. The sacred fire acts as the divine witness, while Saptapadi binds the couple through vows of dharma, love, fidelity, and spiritual responsibility. The ceremony concludes with Ashirvad, symbolizing divine grace from Lord Shiva for a balanced, peaceful, and righteous married life.
