The Varāha Avatar is the third incarnation of Lord Vishnu, taken in the form of a mighty boar to restore balance in the universe. According to the Purāṇas, when the demon Hiranyaksha dragged the Earth (Bhūmi Devi) to the bottom of the cosmic ocean, Vishnu manifested as Varāha—radiant, powerful, and enormous in form. He plunged into the depths, defeated the demon after a fierce battle, and gently lifted the Earth on His tusks, restoring her to her rightful place in the cosmos. The Varāha Avatar symbolizes the triumph of dharma over adharma, the protection of creation, and the compassionate power of the Divine to rescue the world whenever it is threatened.
