Katha
We all know the birth story of Bhumija, the one who comes from bhumi or soil you can say.
The Kingdom of Mithila, ruled by King Janak. He was a kind and compassionate ruler. Though he didnтАЩt have children of his own his subjects were like his own children.
His wife Queen Sunayna was the pious and kind queen of the kingdom of Mithila. When she was unable to conceive an heir for the king, she suggested he take a second wife but King Janaka refused to do so.
Once while ploughing the lands for a Yajna for progeny blessing, he found a golden casket and inside was Bhusuta. The king and queen were overjoyed by such a miracle of nature.
Then later they also had another daughter Urmila, and king JanakaтАЩs brother Kushadhwaja also was blessed with two daughters of his own, Mandavi and Shrutakirti.

Date and right Muhurta to worship
ThereтАЩs been a lot of confusion on whether Sita Navmi is on 24th or 25th but no worries because Bhaktinama has got your back.
The confusion here is because the Navmi tithis actually starts on 24th, but because it only starts at 7:21 PM so the next day which is 25th of April is being celebrated as Sita Navmi widely but in some places it may also be celebrated on the 24th.
тАФ--------------
Sita Navmi falls Navmi of Shukla Paksha in Vaishakha of hindu calendar and March/April according to Gregorian calendar.
The best time to worship is Madhayanna muhurta, as it is the time of her appearance.
The muhurta is:
11:01 AM - 01:38 PM

Puja Vidhi
This is auspicious and especially so for married women who want longevity of their Sindoor.
On this day, observing a fast is much recommended.
Taking a holy bath and cleansing your mind of any impurity or distracting thought.
Then on a clean surface spread yellow or orange clothes and put up the idols of Ram Darbar there and worship them with flowers, fruits, bhog and light up diyas and pray for what you want with complete devotion to Siyaram.
Many people also organise Ramayan Path on this day. With happiness and devotion to the lords many devotees also organise Bhajan-Kirtan.
